Well, Tuesday night turned out to be a rough night. Little Miss had a fever that spiked to 103.4 and her breathing seemed to be very shallow and rapid. All things they are saying on the news to be on the lookout for related to this H1N1 flu. Of course, I'm paranoid anyway about things like that so I was pretty much a basket case. It doesn't help that there are all kinds of reports out there of perfectly healthy kids who come down with this flu and die. I laid in her bed with her all night and we got the fever controlled with Motrin and Tylenol. By morning, the fever was completely gone and her mood was good. We kept her home from school and by the afternoon she really seemed mostly back to her old self. Thursday she was back at school and although she has a lingering cough she really does seem to be otherwise back to normal. I've developed a bit of a cough and I have some tightness in my chest, but if it doesn't get any worse, it will be manageable. Today we're just taking it easy. Big Daddy has to work tonight which is a bummer. He always has one Saturday each month that he works overnight and it's always a drag. Tomorrow Little Miss has swim lessons and then a costume birthday party to go to. It will be good that we are out of the house so that Big Daddy can have some quiet and get some rest. Here are some things I didn't get a chance to post earlier in the week:
One of the days Big Daddy was on vacation we went up to Celestial Seasonings Tea Factory in Boulder. It's actually a cool place. The day we went it was cool and cloudy which was perfect for sampling all kinds of hot teas.
They required us to wear these stylish hair nets on the factory tour.We knew how good we looked in them so we got a picture. We might use this as our Christmas photo this year. We're all about bringing sexy back.
Little Miss drew this picture at School. On the back her teacher wrote "This is a picture of herself with her best friend Jackson. He is her friend because he is handsome." When I asked her about the picture she told me, "It's a picture of me and Jacksonwiththeblondehair on a date at the zoo." She cracks me up! Jackson is the one on the left by the way.
So we went from record cold temperatures last weekend, to potentially record breaking warm temperatures this weekend. Gotta love the wild weather of Colorado. They are predicting 82 in Denver tomorrow! Little Miss rode her bike up and down the side walk for awhile earlier today. It's nice to get in a few more bike rides before the cold sets in for good.
